Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026

Kept Recipes is made by Baseline Logic LLC. These terms cover the Kept Recipes app and this website. They are short on purpose, and they are meant to be read.

The app is free

Kept Recipes costs nothing. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. We may change that one day, but nothing you have already saved would ever be taken away or locked behind a payment.

Your account

You sign in with Apple, which is how we keep the recipe parser running and stop it being abused. Settings has a Delete Account button; it removes your account and signs you out everywhere. We can suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to publish content that breaks the rules below.

Your recipes belong to you

We claim no ownership of the recipes you save. Each one is written as a plain markdown file into your own iCloud Drive, and it stays there whatever happens to us or to your account.

To actually run the service we do need your permission to use what you send us: to parse an import and hand it back, to keep a shared link working, and to improve how well the app reads recipes. We may also feature example recipes on this website. You are giving us permission to do those things; you are not giving up ownership. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we store and why.

Recipes you bring from somewhere else

A recipe's list of ingredients and steps is generally not something anyone can own, but the photographs, the writing around it and the way it is presented usually are. When you import someone else's recipe, keep it for your own cooking, and credit the source if you share it. Don't use Kept Recipes to republish somebody's work as your own.

Shared links are public

When you share a recipe, that link is public: anyone who has it can open the page, and search engines may index it. Don't put anything private in a recipe you share. We can remove a shared page that breaks these terms, and you can delete your own shares at any time.

Use it for cooking

Don't use Kept Recipes to store or share anything illegal, hateful, harassing or sexual, to impersonate somebody, to break into the service, or to hammer our servers with automated traffic. It is a recipe app.

Recipes are read by software, so check them

This is the important one. Kept Recipes uses AI to read recipes out of screenshots, PDFs, captions and webpages. It gets things wrong. Quantities get dropped, steps get shortened, an ingredient gets missed.

Use your own judgement in the kitchen. Check anything that matters for safety yourself — allergens, cooking temperatures, times for meat and eggs, and anything you are cooking for someone with a food allergy or a medical condition. Do not rely on Kept Recipes as the only source for those. The app is provided as it is, without any warranty, and we can't promise it will always be available or always be right.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Baseline Logic LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Kept Recipes. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Some places don't allow these exclusions, in which case they simply don't apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change matters, we'll say so in the app or on this page, and the date at the top will move. Continuing to use Kept Recipes after that means the new terms apply.
